Occupational Injuries of Female Workers in Korea

Abstract
In the course of industrialization in Korea, which started in 1962, the number of female workers has increased a great deal. Nevertheless, the study of occupational injuries among female workers is still very rate and the source of information is also much limited. In this study, the author plotted the incidence rates of occupational injuries of eighteen labour-intensive manufacturing industries against sex ratio. It was found that the rate was lowest in textile industries in which sex ratio was also lowest and highest in metal product industries in which sex ratio was highest. The author further analyzed the cause of accidents of these two industries by the U.S.A. Standard Institute method.
